Coach Glass is looking for a Director of Warehousing and Distribution who wants to lead and inspire our warehouse and distribution teams. The right candidate will be a strategic leader with analytical problem solving skills, ability to leverage metrics and other tools to drive performance, integrity and creativity. As the Director of Warehousing and Distribution, you will be actively involved in setting and achieving goals, while overseeing and directing the site managers at each of our four locations in support of the overall direction of our company.  If this sounds like you, we would like to talk with you.

Overview:

The Director of Warehousing & Distribution ensures the right products are delivered to the right location, on time, intact, and at a competitive cost.  Duties include but are not limited to: managing all aspects of product flow to ensure that customer orders are received, stored and fulfilled effectively and on time. This position oversees the warehouse and distribution functions in 4 US facilities (currently), and directs the site managers who lead each location.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee department functions by providing leadership, training, mentoring, performance evaluations and development
  • Establish annual departmental goals and objectives
  • Lead multi-departmental projects to create warehousing and distribution solutions that support onboarding of new customers and expanding services into new markets
  • Analyze and improve logistics to improve safety, increase inventory turns, reduce waste, and improve customer service
  • Work in conjunction with the Procurement department to plan and schedule material procurement activities by monitoring inventories, tracking production and reviewing factors that affect schedules
  • Work in conjunction with the Sales and Procurement departments to analyze customer demand, sales forecasts, and historical usage to develop order and inventory plans
  • Work in conjunction with IT and Procurement departments to create tools and reports to improve tracking and reporting of materials or product distribution, storage, or inventory
  • Work in conjunction with Engineering to devise and implement incoming product quality inspection programs
  • Work in conjunction with Coach Glass and RV Glass Solutions sales managers to understand and support their customer needs for movement of product.
  • Work in conjunction with the Logistics Manager to review and develop freight reporting tools, systems and procedures to manage our freight decisions
  • Direct investigations to verify and resolve product complaints
  • Innovate new packaging designs and improvements to support new configurations and to reduce damages and costs
  • Implement continuous improvement initiatives to improve service and quality, while reducing waste
  • Oversee and direct Logistics Manager to develop systems and procedures to improve the movement of our product
  • Remain current with new material management tools and technology
  • Evaluate and make recommendations for future warehousing locations and expansions.
  • Lead MRB and CAR meetings to resolve quality issues working with both internal and external resources

Requirements:

  • BS degree in business, management, engineering or related discipline.
  • At least 5 years progressive experience in management of material logistics
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Experience in lean or six sigma preferred
  • APICS certification preferred
  • Working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems.
  • Experience in LTL, FTL, import and export
  • Require pre-employment drug test and background check.
  • Must be able to occasionally work long hours during weekdays and weekends.
  • Ability to travel, when needed, both domestically and internationally.
