Overview

The Outside Sales Representative is responsible for developing, maintaining and interacting with current and prospective customers via various means of communication.  The Outside Sales Representative will source and close new sales opportunities and meet quotas set by the Director of Sales. This position requires face-to-face customer interaction in order to generate and qualify leads and increase sales of products and/or services by closing large sales transactions.

 Responsibilities

  • Maintain up-to-date awareness of activities, industry, trends and government regulations.
  • Develop and close new business opportunities.
  • Manage and grow assigned accounts.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and closing skills with customers and prospects.
  • Build relationships on behalf of the company with customers.
  • Ensure reporting and communications is frequent and bi-directional.
  • Follow process and update data systems.
  • Proven ability to manage sales cycle, with a track record of successful revenue attainment. 
  • Effectively manage customer relationships and follow up on all leads.
  • Meet established sales quotas and revenue goals.
  • Partner with other Reps on territory management.
  • Participate in the team process.
  • Maintain Sales Director abreast of any issues, challenges, concerns and opportunities. 
  • Provide technical support as needed.
  • Work on other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Requirements

  • Associate degree, or consideration of an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 2 - 3 years' experience in outside sales.
  • Manufacturing experience is a plus.
  • Must be able to comprehend, apply and communicate technical information.
  • Must conduct self in a professional manner at all times with personnel, customers and venue staff.
  • Must be able and available to work weekends.
  • 80% travel required.
  • Require valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record per company policy.
  • Drug test and background check are required.
